These Hands

These hands so small, but strong and mighty. Their wrinkles tell a story, a story 96 years old. They've seen the trenches of the cotton fields, raised four children, spent endless hours sewing and crafting, perfected the art of tortilla making, wiped away many tears, snuggled 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and have prayed thousands of prayers.
These hands. These precious hands that were chained to Alzheimer's for the past 12 years, are finally free. So today, as my Nana enters into the throne room of heaven, I am left with her legacy; one of triumph, strength, and beauty.  These hands will be missed. You, Nana, will forever be missed.

"I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
